1. How does it feel to be a 'glocals.com 2007 community Oscar' winner?
I'm honored but not sure I deserved it. Yes, organizing is a lot of work and it's nice to know people appreciate it. However, organizers can organize all they want, but if people don't show up, it doesn't really matter. The best participants, to me, are those who truly embrace the whole spirit of meeting new people and become regulars. You know you can always count on those to help you out if need be.

2. Where are you originally from, and why did you come to Geneva?
I'm originally Danish, but wouldn't even have lived there if I hadn't made a conscious effort to try it out. I grew up in the area, so it was a natural place to come back to once I'd finished moving from country to country.

3. What do you love about Geneva?
It has everything in terms of nature: mountains & lake. It's easy to go skiing winter or a dip in summer. Summers here tend to be great times. We are so lucky to live here!

4. One thing you would change about Geneva?
Add a tunnel to get across the lake - I personally take the bus a lot,
but when I don't, I usually find that traffic is a nightmare.

5. Favorite way to spend a weekend?
In a park or by the lake in the summer. In front of a fondue with friends in the winter.

6. How did you hear about glocals.com, and what was the first glocals.com activity you joined?
Different people kept mentioning glocals (GOL at the time) to me, and I decided to check it out. Browsing through the forums and the activities convinced me to try it and I've never looked back. I think my first activity was the New Members Drinks, and some of the people I met there have become really good friends!

7. What was the first glocals.com activity you organized?
Drinks at la Terrasse, which later became the Tuesday Drinks. I was just copying off Tinkie, really, as I'd loved her event the previous week. It was fun! As always with la Terrasse, it was hard for people to find us, but most people did and we had a great time.

8. What motivates you to be active on glocals.com?
I get to meet new people all the time and if I'm bored, I know there's always something for me to join.

9. Favorite place in the world?
There are two: the island of Fynen, in Denmark, which in the summer is what I consider to be paradise; and Yokohama, the city I was born in, which is amazing.

10. Something about you that people don't know?
I have an out-of-control hibiscus! I don't think people know that.

11. Best joke you know?
I'm useless with jokes. I never remember them when I need them, and they come back to me hours after I wanted to tell one.
